How I Got My Start in Real Estate

Christine works at her desk.

I quite simply am the type of person who needs change and challenges. I love to learn, rearrange/redecorate, experience new places, and develop new skills. Dave and I have lived in 7 different houses in the past 23 years, all in Sioux Falls. But I’m also a helper at heart. When I kept feeling the pull to slow down in my chiropractic practice, I knew I wanted a new adventure as well. Real estate just seemed like a natural fit for me.

“It became apparent that helping people I already know… invest in one of the biggest changes of their life was a useful and exciting adventure.”

My good friend Sharese Ihnen has been a realtor for 12 years. Dave and I have personally used her for several transactions. She has been successful while maintaining the utmost in integrity and forming true relationships with her clients. Sharese and I love to sit and talk about all of the business ideas that come to us on a daily basis - a million ways to connect people with systems or items that can improve their lives! In my conversations with her, it became apparent that helping people I already know (and their friends and families) invest in one of the biggest changes of their life was a useful and exciting adventure.

I studied, took my tests and received my South Dakota Real Estate License at the end of 2020. I joined Sharese’s team - The Select Team at Hegg REALTORS, Inc and had an amazing first year. Every transaction brought new challenges and growth. Each situation is unique in its details, glitches and client personalities. The culture at Hegg allows me to be who I am - extremely relationship driven. Their mission is

“Creating the most professional and ethical real estate experience that impacts people and communities in exceptional ways”.

I love that so much!

It’s not about the houses at all. I love connecting people to the homes and offices that feel right to them. Thinking outside the box, planning for the future, and tapping into my amazing network allow me to create a buying or selling experience that is personal, educational and fruitful for my clients.
